Looking for great PBIS ideas? Our PBIS Roll Out Kits give you everything you need to get your students to embrace your program, and create a positive learning culture. Our Roll Out Kits give you an effective way to use your school mascot as a role model to demonstrate the positive behavior expectations in your PBIS program.
The minute a child says “I am a tiger” (for example), their self-image is changed. They see themselves as a tiger, and as part of a community of tigers. When you control the tiger, you control valuable real estate in the child’s mind – a part of their self-image. It’s a fundamental truth that people act consistently with their self-image.
When you ask them “What would a good little tiger do?” you are giving them a way to step back and assess their decision options with greater clarity – especially if you’ve explained positive behavior, and good decision-making, in terms of the tiger before. It’s easier for them, and that’s a good thing.
That’s why every tool in our PBIS Roll Out Kits is designed around your school mascot. Control the mascot, and you control their behavioral expectations and, to a great extent, their behavior and decision making.
